Music Monday #37

For all you coffee lovers out there!
Carmen - Lana del Rey
"The boys, the girls, they all like Carmen
She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes
She laughs like God, her mind's like a diamond
Audiotune lies, she's still shining

Like lightning, white lightning

Carmen, Carmen, staying up till morning
Only seventeen, but she walks the streets so mean
It's alarming truly how disarming you can be
Eating soft ice cream, Coney Island queen"

Body Electric - Lana del Rey

Hit The Road Jack - Ray Charles

Hold My Hand - Sean Paul

Could You Be Loved - Bob Marley & The Wailers
This song reminds me of last spring/summer for some reason and I really don't know why.. I didn't listen to it that much. Nevertheless, it's a nice song! :)

Hand Inna the Air - Demarco

What About Us - The Saturdays, Sean Paul
I have always loved the sound of Sean Paul's voice! Listen to the very beginning of the song and you'll understand ;)

Watch Out For This (Bumaye) - Major Lazer feat. Busy Signal, The Flexican & FS Green

Prom Edition

A simple black dress with a beautiful, deep back. Something for the minimalist.

Ida Sjöstedt for Nelly
Something for the pretty princess. This is a darling dress!

I would pick this beautiful, turquoise strapless dress. It's long and flows beautifully. The colour is probably my favourite feature of this dress.

This dress is a dream! I love the cap sleeves and the train.

11 Random Facts About Me

1. What is a nickname only your family calls you?
The nickname which my family and close friends call me is "Sia" which derives from my forename Sofia. I came up with this name when I was about 4 years old, and always called myself Sia. The name that only my dad and brother call me sometimes when they're joking around is "Sieso." This last one is hard to pronounce unless you know how they say it, and I'm not going to try to explain it because I can't, lol.

2. What's a weird habit of yours?

This isn't exactly weird, it's really only for practical reasons, but immediately when I get home I put my hair up in a ponytail or bun. I'm fine with wearing it down when I'm out but I just feel like it's in the way when I'm at home...

3. Do you have any phobias?

I have ophidiophobia. Which is basically the fear of snakes. I cannot even think of snakes without getting shivers. And when I see one on TV my heart races and I feel scared. I have however touched a rattle snake before. This was at Skansen zoo in Stockholm and I must say that it was probably the softest thing I've ever touched. So I faced my greatest fear but I am still terrified...

4. What is a song you love to blast & belt out when you're alone?

Hehehe. This only really works if it's dark outside and if you have good speakers. But I turn off all the lights in the room I'm in, open the window and blast "Make It Bun Dem" by Skrillex + Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley. I don't really sing along to it though.

5. What is one of your biggest pet-peeves?

When people munch on their food really loudly. It drives me insaaaane! I can't stand it. I grosses me out.

6. What is one of your nervous habits?

I bite my nails. This used to be very regular, not because I was nervous all the time but because it was a horrid habbit. I've stopped and only bite my nails when I get nervous or anxious.

7. Which side of the bed do you sleep on?

Everywhere. But my preferred side is against the wall.

8. Which way do you face in the shower?

When I'm washing my hair, I'm facing away from the nozzle. But if I'm washing my face it's obviously towards the nozzle. I basically face all ways.

9. What is a phrase or exclamation you always say?

"That's fine" this is a phrase I've been saying a lot lately, and I can't seem to stop. I don't just blurt it out randomly but I do say it when it's needed, if that makes sense ?

10. What do you wear to bed?

It depends really. But my favourite pajama is an old, over-sized t-shirt which is sort of like a short nightgown. I've had it since I was like 12 so it's extremely soft and cozy now because it has been washed so many times! It's short sleeved though, and I would like it even more if it had long sleeves because my arms get cold sometimes during the night. I sometimes wear pajama shorts as well, but I've realized they are uncomfortable to sleep with since I usually lie on my stomach.

11. What is your dream car?
A red Fiat 500 (cinquecento) the new version. I wouldn't say no to the old version either, the one in the picture looks perfect!

Helen: We met in Mr. Coldwell's class - 4th year primary. He had moved my best friend to another seat so Sofia could sit next to me. I was really upset and didn't like Sofia at first... But in the playground Xana, Ari, Jenny and I talked and we decided we should be friends with her and invite her to our house.
Sofia: I can't remember when or how we started talking to each other.

3. What's your favourite memory together?
Helen: The trip to Pompeii in third year secondary. That's when we became proper friends.
Sofia: I realized on that trip that Helen and I had a lot of similarities which we hadn't discovered before. We'd always been friends but not as close as we are now.

Helen: Amen to that!

8. Favourite inside joke?
Helen: "Cradle the balls, stroke the shaft, work the pipe, swallow the gravy - GET IT OVER HERE BUDDY LET'S DO THIS!!" from Tropic Thunder.
Sofia: We have soooo many inside jokes from that movie it's insane. Every time we see each other we make new inside jokes. So we could have a conversation with just inside jokes and make complete sense to each other.

9. Who takes longer to get ready in the morning?
Sofia: Helen.
Helen: Me.

10. Do you have anything matching?
Helen: We have the same Lonchamp bag, same foundation, same converse.

Misfit Heaven

Yesterday, Helen arrived with the train at 16.00. We spent a few hours in the mall strolling around in the shops. I bought the shirt I'm wearing in the pictures from Zara. Before we headed back home, we ate at T.G.I.F's. We stuffed our faces and encountered several extremely awkward moments with our server.
When we got back we watched 3 episodes of Modern Family and then started to get ready for the night. We had a couple of drinks in my room, Skyped with Jenny and then headed over to the Union bar.
When we got back to my room at around half one, we watched another episode of Modern Family and then got ready for bed. A great night to say the least! :D

I Heart Spring

1. What is your favourite spring nail polish?
Two months ago I bought a beautiful dark pink nail polish from Topshop. It's called "One Hot Minute," however the colour of the nail polish in the pictures don't look anything like how it does in real life - it's more pink.
I also like mint green and corals for the spring and summer!

2. What is your favourite spring flower?
Last week I bought a potted white narcissus for my room. It's slowly starting to bloom now and I'm so excited!
My favourite spring/summer flower are peonies. They can bloom from April through to June/July, but where I live I think they start to bloom in June.
Tulips are another favourite for spring and I love them in all their different colours and styles!

3. What is your favourite fragrance (body spray/perfume etc.) this spring?
This whole year I've been alternating between two Victoria's Secret perfumes. One is the Bombshell body mist which smells of purple passion fruit, Shangri-la, yellow peony and vanilla orchid - in other words GORGEOUS! The colours, the patterns, the style as well as the immense detail of the jacket is marvelous!
