Music Monday #37

For all you coffee lovers out there!
Carmen - Lana del Rey
"The boys, the girls, they all like Carmen
She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes
She laughs like God, her mind's like a diamond
Audiotune lies, she's still shining

Like lightning, white lightning

Carmen, Carmen, staying up till morning
Only seventeen, but she walks the streets so mean
It's alarming truly how disarming you can be
Eating soft ice cream, Coney Island queen"

Body Electric - Lana del Rey

Hit The Road Jack - Ray Charles

Hold My Hand - Sean Paul

Could You Be Loved - Bob Marley & The Wailers
This song reminds me of last spring/summer for some reason and I really don't know why.. I didn't listen to it that much. Nevertheless, it's a nice song! :)

Hand Inna the Air - Demarco

What About Us - The Saturdays, Sean Paul
I have always loved the sound of Sean Paul's voice! Listen to the very beginning of the song and you'll understand ;)

Watch Out For This (Bumaye) - Major Lazer feat. Busy Signal, The Flexican & FS Green

Songs from Memories - part 2

I simply have too many songs and far too many memories to fit them into one post. But I've taken the ones I like the most ;)

Italy - Febuary 2010. These songs take me back to my trip to Varese with Jenny! We had the most amazing time and I think both of these songs take us right back to that point in time :D

FRESHERSSSS! Yup, the first week of uni. I have a very clear memory of Michele, Leigh and I dancing to "Mercy" in a club called the Garage. I was completely obsessed with this song at the time and I remember how excited we got when it came on ;)

I really don't even know where to start, and I couldn't possible name all of the songs which reminds me of Ios. As you may know I went to an island called Ios which is one of the many Greek islands. I went there and had the most amazing 10 days of my life. I remember the first time I heard "Ni**as in Paris" for real and actually enjoyed it: Jenny, Erik and I were dancing in a club called Rehab. It came on more times than I can count, and takes me back to Ios every time I hear it. "I Follow Rivers" --> The Irish Bar! Every night, when the club opened at 2 am we would all go there. This song along with many others came on. I have a whole separate Spotify playlist which only contains music from Ios - 37 tracks and 2 hours long haha, so you might understand why I'm not posting every single one! :)

      9. Bottlez - T-Pain, Detail + When I Dip - Bingo Players + Cry (Just a little) - Bingo Players
These three songs remind me of my crash-weekend trip to London back in October of this year. The songs remind me specifically of when Jenny and I were listening to music while getting ready to go out to Rubix (the union at her uni) on the Friday.

      10. I Found You - The Wanted + Ladi Dadi - Steve Aoki, Wynter Gordon (Tommy Trash remix) +  Lemme See - Usher feat. Rick Ross + Make it Bun Dem - Skrillex, Damian "Jr Gong" Marley + No Interruption - Hoodie Allen + One Day/Reckoning Song - Asaf Avidan, the Mojos + The Show Goes On - Lupe Fiasco
All of these songs remind me of the many mornings I spent walking to uni. I pretty much always listen to music when I'm walking by myself and these songs, especially "The Show Goes On" reminds me of my first term of uni. They're almost all upbeat and have a nice sound which gets me excited and make me walk faster, which is good because I'm sometimes in a hurry ;)

Hope you enjoyed! xx

Songs from Memories - part 1

If I could, I would share my entire Spotify playlist with you guys. Currently I have 287 tracks on it which is around 18 hours of awesome music.
For some reason I felt as though I could tell a short story of my life with the help of my music on the playlist:

This song reminds me so much of Spring 2010. The strongest memory with this song is when I was getting ready to go to a friends party. I was listening to it non-stop at that time and every time I listen to this song I immediately think of that night!

These three songs remind me of a trip to Italy with my Italian class in May 2011. We went to Lago di Garda and lived in bungalows on a camping ground for a week. Every night, these were the songs we played over and over again and obviously I can't help but think of that week of fun and crazy memories!

One word: Europarty! Oh my gosh, haha. So many craaaazy memories! In March 2011, I attended the Europarty in Brussels which the European Schools in Europe host every year. I had a great time to say the least :) I had just found these song before I went to Brussels and when they played the songs at the party I was in heaven!

These two songs remind me of my trip to London this summer to celebrate my two best friends', Helen and Jenny, 18th birthday! The song "This is Love" was played several times on the radio in the car.

One word: Graduation! These songs immediately remind me of my graduation this summer! It was one of the best days in my life :) Need I say more? tsss
