Ben Howard

I have listened to this famous singer-songwriter from London for a good long while now. Several songs from his first album "Every Kingdom" have been played many a time on my Spotify, as well as many of his singles that were released prior to the album. This includes songs such as The Wolves and Keep Your Head Up and Depth Over Distance.

Whilst browsing around on iTunes the other day, I came across the new album "I Forger Where We Were" that was to be released two days after. I immediately pre-ordered it, before even thinking twice about it, as I was sure I would love it. After two days of waiting, it appeared in my iTunes library, and I have been listening to the songs on repeat ever since.

Song from Memories - part 5

I thought I would do another one of these posts as I got inspired whilst listening to my shuffled Spotify playlist!

Dance our tears away - John de Sohn, Kristin Amparo

This first song reminds me so much of when my dad and I were skiing down the moutain of Trysil in Norway, back in April 2013. I remember so clearly how much I wanted to know what the song was called and I kept humming the tune for the rest of the day so I wouldn't forget what it sounded like, as I was already obsessed with it and needed it in my playlist, haha

Younger - Seinabo Sey (Kygo remix)

I think this song will almost always remind me of my workplace from this summer. I remember my work colleague would always turn up the volume on the radio when this came on as we both really liked it.

Strövtåg i Hembygden - Mando Diao

The first time I ever heard this song was when I was watching TV with my dad and a Volvo commercial came on. I instantly fell in love with it. So I quickly flung myself over the sofa to where my laptop was laying and googled every possible song that I thought it could be. It took me a little while to find it, but when I did, I pressed the replay button over and over again. I think the lyrics are so incredibly beautiful.

All I do is win - DJ Khaled

Lol! This song just cracks me up, but it reminds me so much of when Helen and I were in Cyprus. We were sitting in a bar in Ayia Napa sipping our drinks one night, when this song suddenly came on. We didn't get up to dance or anything but I just have this very clear memory of me and Helen sitting next to each other listening to this song and laughing and joking around like we normally do - good times, good times!

Keep on keepin' on

Dunes in Scotland, June 2011
That's my motto for the time being. I regard it as a less cliché version of "Keep calm and carry on," which I bloody hate at this point if I'm perfectly honest.

We are constantly surrounded by people. We live in big urban cities, that come alive with the hustle and bustle of its inhabitants. However, I think there is an overwhelming feeling of loneliness amongst many of us. I have always been comfortable being by myself, I just don't like feeling lonely. I'm not one of those icky people who has to be with someone for the majority of their time to get by with their lives.
I'll leave it there for now, as I will most likely get carried away with my thoughts and ramble on about everything and nothing between heaven and hell.

On a happier note I started work yesterday and will be working all through July until around mid-August, if I'm not mistaken. Furthermore I saw an ad in the newspaper this morning about a strawberry-picking-farm located a mere 20-min ride with the car. If that doesn't scream summer, I don't know what does.. Our strawberries haven't ripened yet, but there's heaps of them to munch on once they have turned red in July!
A few days ago I was researching vacation destinations on the Interwebs. I seriously need to stop doing this to myself! I just get sad when I realize I will most likely be spending my whole summer in Sweden…
Also, yous should check out Ed Sheeran's new album X!

Music Monday #77

In a perfect world by Sam Chase

This land from the Disney's The Lion King

Now we are free from the motion picture Gladiator

As you may know, I listen to a lot of classical and instrumental music while studying. I put my headphones on and block out the rest of the world to be able to concentrate on my work. Recently I've been listening to the Hans Zimmer playlist on my Spotify, which I think my brother created. It contains music from several different movies, including The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Man of Steel and so forth.
Have a listen: Hans Zimmer music
