As you may be aware, I'm absolutely fascinated by the universe and our galaxy. And I thought it would be a good idea with some more enthralling facts about it:

- We are moving through space at the rate of 530km a second. That means that in one minute you are about 19 thousand kilometers away from where you were
- The moon is slowly drifting further away from earth. About 3.8cm every year. This is caused by tidal effects
- If two pieces of metal touch each other in space they will stick together, and form into one single object. This is due to the vacuum in space
- If someone shouted in space you wouldn't be able to hear it, even if they were right next to you
- Venus is the only planet that rotates clockwise

- Every 60 seconds on Facebook: 510,000 comments are posted 293,000 statuses are updated 136,000 photos are uploaded
- If you take your age, multiply it by 7, then multiply it by 1443, the product repeats your age 3 times
- It takes eight minutes for sun light to reach us. This means that is the sun were to go black, it would take roughly ten minutes for us to know
- Saturn is more dense than water. Which means that if it was dropped into water it would float like an ice cube
- A black hole is the cold remnant of a former star and is so dense that no matter, not even light, is able to escape from its immense gravitational pull
