University Life

Where to begin?
I have had so much going on in my life over the past week and a half that I have had no time at all to write anything, and update you.
I moved into halls on Saturday the 15th of September and I live with four other girls in a flat. We get along well and I enjoy their company.
Fresher's Week is one week packed with fun activities during the day and night. It was a great way to meet new people and socialize and get to know the university campus.
My weeks are going to be full of long lectures, practicals, workshops and tutorials. But I promise I'll try to squeeze in some time to update on here!
Enjoy these pictures :)
Packed and ready to go

Update

I believe this will be the last post I write from Sweden for a while. Tomorrow I move away from home all by myself, to a country I have no real connection with. It's daunting yet extremely exciting- to be independent, to live on my own, to take care of myself. This past week I've been struggling with fitting my whole life into two large suitcases! It's been hard but I did it- it might have been one of the hardest things I've done for quite some time. Fingers crossed I haven't forgotten anything!!
That's really all I have to say for the time being, I just want to give you an brief update of my life right now!

Baroque

It's common knowledge that fashion is inspired by art. But there was one style of art that seemed to prevail at the Fall/Winter 2012 shows: Baroque.
With ornate details and gilded edges, the drama of the baroque period has been fancifully captured this season:
Dolce & Gabbana's Fall/Winter 2012 can be summed up in one word: lavish

Proenza Schouler - Metallic gold complements and warm orange in the Asian-inspired baroque look

At Jason Wu, a daring slit adds a sultry twist to the classic baroque look
Indulge in the decadence with this jewel-encrusted Lanvin dress

The baroque fashion look is all about the details, and who could resist this ornate Balmain dress?

Nobody does over-the-top like Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton's looks this season were otherworldly

Wow Factor

The amazing wow factor at the Olympics, other than Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps winning every race, was at the closing ceremony. A selection of ten iconic British supermodels strutted their stuff down the runway clad in dazzling gold designer creations to David Bowie's hit Fashion. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lily Donaldson, Georgia May Jagger, Jourdan Dunn, Karen Elson, Stella Tennant, Lily Cole and David Gandy were the lucky ten who got to storm the Union Jack shaped runway on Sunday night.

“Moss and Campbell may be in catwalk semi-retirement but both put in classic catwalk displays. Moss poured down the catwalk like vodka onto ice: the only thing missing from that liquid perambulation (in a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen bias-cut silk-lined show-stopper) was a signature cigarette perched in her pout,” reported British newspaper The Telegraph.

Dogeared

For quite some time now, I've been in love with the whole Dogeared brand. They make exquisite jewelry which suits everyone's preferences and needs, in my opinion.
They have everything from simple necklaces and bracelets, to dainty and beautiful earrings.

"Spreading good energy, one jewel at a time"
One of my favourite necklaces.

Patterns

Something which I think could be great fun to wear during the boring autumn and winter months is a patterned blazer. I know that I tend to wear a lot of black during the winter, but a simple patterned blazer can easily revitalize a whole outfit. Accessorize with beautiful bracelets or a necklace and your ready to go!

Patterned trousers and pants are one of my favourite trends right now. I know that some mornings when I pick out what to wear for the day, I still want something summery, but it's a little too chilly to wear shorts. A pair of flowy, patterned bottoms instantly make the outfit more interesting and are not too heavy and warm.

Hair Care

Since I have quite long hair, I like to put a deep treatment in it at least once a week. This helps to hydrate the hair, and help with any split ends - it also reduces the frizziness that can occur.
Here are some of the products I use to keep my hair healthy!
From left to right:
Schwarzkopf- Got 2b Volumizing Styling Powder
Osis+ Dust it
Joico- K-PAK, Restorative Styling Oil
Moroccan Oil- Hair Treatment
Aussie- Take the Heat, 3 Minute Miracle
Aussie- 3 Minute Miracle, Reconstruction
Elvital- Nutri-gloss, Shine Shampoo and Conditioner
I start off by washing my hair with the Elvital shampoo (which smells amazing!) and conditioner. I do this every other day. When my hair is damp, I put a blob of Moroccan oil through the tips. Alternatively I use the Joico hair oil- but I prefer the smell of the Moroccan oil.
Once or twice a week I'll deep condition my hair as I said. I either use Aussie's Take the Heat, for when I know I'm going to be using a straightener or curling iron, or the Reconstructive deep treatment, which works wonders for split and dry ends!
For when I want voluminous hair I typically use the Osis+ Dust it, which I "dust" onto my teased roots of my hair and rub. I sometimes go for Schwarzkopf's Got 2b, but I prefer the Osis+

Hope you enjoyed!
